Is there a specific moment in time, or specific thing that happened in your life, when you realized that all things are connected? That you realized all consciousness is one?
The reason I ask is that I can’t specifically remember a time or exact moment. I do remember the moment of a spider. Many MANY years ago…I did something horrible to an animal. So, so wrong. That sentence is incredibly hard to say and incredibly hard for me to admit, but that is obviously no longer me. It is very hard for me to talk about and a very emotional story for me, but in that moment, I felt its fear, its pain, its struggle, and all of its frustration, that I didn’t feel the minute before. That connection to all animals happened then. But I didn’t know what it was called or why I felt this different way; I didn’t realize until a couple years ago, that it was that I was “connected.”
I can’t quite pinpoint though, the time that I knew that’s what it was, or when plants, too, entered into the equation. Because plants are of course an essential part of life as well.

The story of what I said above is a very VERY personal one and have only shared the specific details with very close friends, because I can’t tell the story without crying and feeling its fear again.
