To this day, I only have one regret.

I was in a clothing store, coming around the corner of an aisle just a little bit quickly, and for a split second I hear this faint singing; the woman coming around the other side of the corner was the source of the beautiful sound, and just before we almost ran into each other, she had this huge smile on her face. Embarrassed that she was singing to herself, she lost the smile, quickly looked down, and said, “sorry.” And walked away.

And that was it.

How could I let somebody apologize for who they are, especially someone creating such a positive energy in the world? How could I let her just walk away, embarrassed, thinking that I would poke fun at what had happened, when all I wanted was for her to keep singing her heart out? Nobody should ever have to feel embarrassed, it’s such a sad, sad feeling.

I just can’t bear being the cause of someone’s embarrassment, the cause of the light washing away from someone’s face. I’m so sorry. Forever sorry.

I am very sad thinking about this. Sorry.
