Happy 2 year anniversary of me being vegetarian!

So this will be the first, last, and only picture you will see like this, and it’s for a reason, because I have a few things to say that I care deeply about, so if you could take a couple minutes to read this novel, that would be awesome.

If you look back on my posts, you’ll see that this is not in any way an episode of douchebaggery. I don’t post a selfie every two seconds, I don’t post much about myself at all, in fact, there are very few pictures of me online even in a tank top. This is my chance to get a point across, and I’m going to do just that.

First of all, what I eat. This post is dedicated to not eating animals for two years. People think you need meat to be healthy, but that’s certainly not the case, as long as you’re making sure you’re getting all your vitamins and minerals, and of course, protein. I don’t eat meat or eggs, nor do I drink milk, because the cruelty in our animal world is such fucking bullshit. I’d like to see all the people that rip each feather off of every chicken one by one burned alive for doing such a thing to an innocent creature. Small or large, a life is a life. I don’t hurt insects, I don’t hurt anything. And I will guard every animal with my life. Everyone and everything, and every animal, deserves to be treated with respect. Animals fear and animals suffer, and animals feel pain, just like humans do. So think twice before you decide what you do and what you eat. Maybe have a scoop of organic protein isolate instead of eating that hamburger. Less fattening, and less pain for others. Empathy is important!

Second, I’d like to talk about steroids, another thing I think is fucking bullshit. If you look back on any of my past tweets, you’ll find out that I feel like steroids not only make you fake, but it hurts others’ self esteem as well. From my Facebook about a year ago, which still holds true:
“I work SO hard for what I have (and don’t yet have), and stick to a diet so well, probably way more than the synthol-filled muscleheads ever did or would, to look about 10% as good as them just because they’re filled with poison, and it’s honestly bull. No, I would never IN MY LIFE try it, or even consider it, and never will. They’re the real life example of a photoshopped magazine cover that nobody could possibly attain even with their hardest efforts and makes people feel like they’re never gonna be good enough, and for that, they’re the lowest of the low.
Nobody likes a cheater.”

You’re cheating yourself, and you’re cheating others’ beliefs on what is possibly naturally attainable.

When I say that I’m natural and steroid-free, I mean 100% natural. I do not take any supplements, other than protein and vitamins. Never have, never will. I’m not one of those fuckers that go, no, I don’t take steroids, only prehormones. Because that’s a bullshit statement too. I take nothing. No fat burners to get where I am, no stacker supplements (other than mass gainer protein powder, which is basically just food) when I’m bulking. Nothing. This is where 8 years of working out gets me with a near perfect diet. You look at where I am after 8 years and think to yourself, is that guy I compare myself to at the gym even reasonable to compare myself to? He’s probably not. He’s probably photoshopped.

And third and last, my short story and workout history. The top right picture you see is me with bulimia/anorexia about 8 years ago. I hit 117 pounds (I was still the same height as I am now, 5’9), but I never quite reached my goal of 110. The middle left is me after recovery about 8 months later, at around 135. I plateaued at 150 or so and was there for years, before my first bulk about a year ago, which took me up to 193. Pictured bottom left is me at my most recent bulk, my fattest weight ever, 195, at the beginning of January. And bottom right is current at 170.

I have always, and I mean always, been “straight edge” (as seen in top left picture) and I put straight edge in quotes because I refuse to label myself as that or as anything, but if there were a label, I guess that’s what I would be. I’ve never done one drugz, never had one sip of alcohol, I refuse to even take aspirin or anything like that for headaches because that makes you weak. If you’re strong, you can handle it. And I believe I can handle it without the use of these things.

Anyway, my point of this is not to be a douche, but to give you hope. That, yes you can go vegetarian and still get the necessary nutrients to be happy and healthy. No, you don’t need ANY sort of muscle enhancement to succeed in the gym, and quite frankly, I believe they make your efforts next to worthless. That’s not you that’s doing the work, that’s you hiding behind a mask. And yes, you can overcome your eating disorder and carry on, yes, you can overcome mental illness. It takes a lot of work, but mental and physical health are not far off, I promise.

You just must find that fire inside you that will push you to get better. Drive is everything, positive thinking is everything, and self motivation is everything. Surround yourself with people that bring out the best in you, and only them! Don’t use your energy for negativity, use it to make the world a better place! You’ll be much better off.

Thanks for reading.
With love,
Mike
