This girl in my public speaking class.
She first caught my attention when we did all of our introductions the first day and she said that she was an EMT. Instantly I perked up; those people are such heroes. And as I listened to her, I fell more and more in love with her personality. She was just so adorable.
And then the day we did one minute speeches, with no time to prepare, I couldn’t wait till she went up to speak, because I wanted to hear her voice again. It’s so incredibly pretty. She had the topic of “best gift as a child” and she talked about her turtle. And I’ll never forget her line, “And I play with him sometimes, and that’s kind of weird..” The whole class died of laughter, and in that moment, a piece, not a large piece, but a piece nonetheless, of my heart was taken from me. I can’t even take it in.
She’s just so pretty and adorable and perfectly awkward and funny and has values and I can’t wait to see her again.
If only it could be. If only.
