“You can’t think of anything else to do but call it a deeper more serious love than friendship. It is in these times that when such great emotion is felt that the flame grows to such height, you begin to wonder if you’ll burn alive with the intensity of it. It is then that you realize that you want something more than friendship and maybe, depending on your character, you let that person know in some way. Hopefully, you get a flame that burns just as brightly as yours and end up giving it a chance.
However, sometimes the other that you feel so strongly for doesn’t feel that same way and most possibly never will. It is then that your candle doesn’t only rupture but explodes and leaves a huge gaping hole in the labyrinth of your heart. If such a thing occurs, the damage will be great and to rebuild that part of you again will take time and even then the pain will never go away. If you look hard enough, even though they hurt you so much, you will find that the flames still glow dimly inside of you.”
Almost five years later, after the struggles I have gone through, I finally can say, I understand this, I know this. I’ve felt this.
I’m glad I found this. I needed something like this to get me through.
Best birthday poem present ever.
